Sounds like power issues. Check the FAQ in this section for wiring diagrams. Also how did the V6 bolt up. Did you use your stock 4cly. mounts? And did did you do for the tranny? We sometimes get questions about swaping out the 4cly. for a v6 or a V8.So any info on it will help others.

to start with the motor and auto tranny is out of an 89,it is a 3.9 the truck i put it in is a 94 it had a 2.5 with a 5 speed(for sale now).the stock 2.5 mounts on the 94 had to be changed but the auto tranny bolted up great and believe it or not the drive shaft from the 94(manual tranny)fit the automatic with no rebuilding.heres the bad news im hoping someone can help with,i figured i would use the wireharness from the donor motor but when you turn the key you got nothing,i put the harness from the 2.5 in itand the key turns it over still no fire.the junction box under the brake booster is where i changed them,i did notice the harness for the 3.9 did have more tabs in it.my question is do i have to change the inside harness that came with the 3.9?any help would be appreciated

I would start by tracing those extra wires and see what they are normally wired to.

Sounds like power issues like Crazy said.

so maybe it would be easier to change the inside harnessto so the motor has all the original wiring?the manual talks about a power distribution bow,the 89 dont have it at least on the outside
