Default Smog Pump

I am new to Dakotas and this forum. I just got an 1989 Dakota from my uncle who was the original owner. I drove her from PA to AZ about a week ago and got an average of 21 highway. Its a 3.9 Liter, 5-speed manual, standard cab, short bed, 4x4. And the only mods on it is a K&N air filter, dual exhaust, smog pump belt removed and a soft tonneau cover. I got a couple of questions about her.

What repair manual would you suggest, I have a Chilton repair manual that I really don't care for, for my Jeep.

Where does the smog pump inject the air into the exhaust system? Is the air injected at the back of each exhaust manifold or is this the EGR? I would like to completely remove the smog pump to clean up the engine compartment and want to know what to remove/ plug up.

Thanks,

Tube runs down the pass side of engine and enters the exaust pipe just in front of the CAT. You can start with that tube and work backwards and remove stuff but at some point the computer will detect what you have done and I don't know how it will react.....
