95 Dak 5.2 ltr - now power at fuel pump
We are really stuck now!!! I've posted several things already, but the latest is: 3 yrs ago, truck wouldn't crank, figured out no power to pcm under that notoriously bad splice box.., so just ran hot wire from battery to pcm, to get power to fuel pump! This worked great since 3 yrs ago, no problem. Now... it won't crank again.., and that same power line to pcm is just fine, but the "connector" AT THE FUEL PUMP.., does not seem to have any power! We tested fuel pump by running power and ground to the pump, it came on, but when you plug it back in to orig connector, it's not! So.., there is a breakdown in the power source, but we have NO idea WHERE it is?, whether it's hot or ground, or what to do about it!? Don't know if we can bypass.. again, running power straight to the pump, because of possible interference with the pcm.., and all the other things that it controls, such as fuel pressure, injectors, etc... Just don't know what to do from here!!! Thanks for any advice!! Michael & Lynn
First off, this needs to be moved to the 1st gen subforum.
Here is a link from FAQ2 for the 1995 factory service manual...

Download that, and then go to the section on wiring diagrams. It will give a full breakdown of what is coming out of the power distribution center. You should be able to tell from that which lead of the fuel pump relay supplies power directly to the pump and where the pump grounds to. My best advice is to study that and run a new wire from the factory locations.
