Default Replacing front CV axle

Got to digging around in my front end the other day and noticed my boot was blown. I could hear a rattle or thunk on hitting hard bumps/potholes on the front passenger side. The inside(differential side) of the passenger boot is full of milky fluid, and looks bad. New ones arent that expensive so rather than risking repacking this one Ill just replace it.

Wondering how long to expect the job to take. Did one on my mazda truck a few years ago. So not my first time, but my first one on a dakota. Thanks

For me one side was easy. One was hard. I would say about an hour per side. Since it is your first time doing it maybe a little longer. The hard part is the giant CV axle nut. One side came off easy. The other I broke 3 breaker bars. I had to take it to a Semi Truck tire shop. They were the only ones with a strong enough air impact. Just make sure you got a big enough socket for it. Off memory it is 33 or 34mm. If needed you can check the FAQ for service manuals.

Ok thanks. I downloaded the manual and read up on it. Doesnt seem bad at all. But paper and project can often be very different. Hopefully mine isnt the PIA side lol...

If everything goes well it should take about 45 minutes.
