headlight-on reminder NOT working
I have a 95 dakota w/ 30000 miles. YES I MEAN Thirty thousand.
my headlight-on reminder is not working. I've checked fuses, looked through the owners manual(which was no help), and also looked through the Haynes manual. I have also searched for similar problems on here.
I DO get a buzzer when turning key to 'on' position, if that's relevant.
Is there one buzzer that buzzes both for key-in and for headlight-on-reminder?? If not, perhaps a buzzer module was removed before I bought it?
any ideas?

fixed it.
the door switch had broken so that one of the two wires going to it wasn't connected.
one of the wires grounds the interior lights(WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED) and sounds the buzzer when the key is in the ignition and the door is opened.
the other wire grounds the buzzer(WHEN THE DOOR IS OPENED) when the key is not in the ignition but the headlights are still on.
extra instructions and DIY for anyone else having the same problem:
the wires are (supposed to be)attached to the back of the door switch. Unscrew it to find the wires. One of my wires was detached from the plastic housing on the switch and hanging inside the body panel/interior there.
My fix was to splice the wires together instead of buying the $20 door jam switch. They are both grounded at the same time(when the door is open) so there is no issue with just splicing them. Save $20, just cut and splice.
