Question Differential Question

Is there a difference between two and four wheel drive differentials. I have a 1996 2wd dodge dakota. Im wanting to put a four wheel drive differential in my truck because the only ones around here at the salvage yards are 4wd. And they have the gear ratio(3.90) and limited slip that im lookin for and for a decent price. Will it fit with no modifications?

No it won't. The leaf spring perches on a 2wd are on the bottom of the axle housing and on a 4x4 they are on top. You would have to weld new perches on.
