1994 dodge dakota no spark
Bought a 1994 dodge dakota automatic 5.2L. Had it 3 days and took off, up mountain passes, hauling our boat to go camping on a very hot day(106), when 20 miles in, the truck just shuts down(speedometer & tachometer, dropped to 0). Sat there for 15 mins...pulled all relays and fuses..then she starts back up...5 miles in..shuts down again..sat again for another 15min. and starts again..then did it again last time..but last time shut down..would not start again. Sent ECU off to get tested..was fried..got rebuilt one and still will not start. Will turn over but no spark. Is there a way to check the ignition module to see if it is bad? Or a way to check the crank/cam shaft sensor? I am at my wits end with this.....What could possibly be wrong with this truck..If anyone could give me ANY suggestions..would really appreciate it.
Thank You

Well we ended up taking it in to a mechanic. It ended up being the Hall Effect Sensor in the distributor. Cost us $90.00 and runs like a charm. He told us that in these Dakotas he has changed many of the Hall Effects Sensors but never a ECU.
Hope this can help anyone else having similar problems..
Thanks to all that helped

I have a 92 that has done the stop and start thing for two years. Well now it stopped running completely. I've replaced both the crank sensor and hall sensor and still no spark. I have noticed the fuel pump doesn't come on briefly when you turn on the key either and I cant get it to give me a code with the key on/off thing.
WHAT CAN IT BE NOW!
