Gas Gauge Fix
I don't know about you, but when my fuel pump went I had just filled the tank (22 Gal). I had to drain the tank first then drop it. It seems easier to do that then unbolt the bed and risk snapping rusted bolts. That's just me though
It depends on what you want to do. If your tank is full then take off the bed. You will need help moving the bed. So if you don't have the help then drop the tank. Or if it almost empty then just drop the tank. I have done both ways.
I'd just drop the tank. Its 2 bolts and like they said, you wont risk snapping your bed mount bolts.
I have an open rafter ceiling in my shop so I would use a chain hoist in the middle with chains out to all 4 corners of the bed to lift it straight up, if you go that route. Or you could back up under a big tree or something too. Just make sure you have something good to support it by!

The fuel and electrical lines have enough length to reach about 3/4 of the way to the ground. So you can almost set it down before you disconnect them.
I wouldnt remove the bed, and I didnt to access my tank. But you could. I wouldnt think you could slide it back.......at least not without supporting the rear and that would be annoying.
