Default Buying from ebay overseas (China, etc)

Hey guys... Has anyone ever bought anything on ebay from china or anywhere out of the country? I got a powerwheels truck for my kids last night and true to my style, I am looking to customize it.

I want to add some lights to it, so I found some super cheap LED lights on ebay that will work for this. Now I know that they are not going to be good quality nor are they going to last long, but for now, the price is right.

I can get a pair of lights (15 LEDs per light) for like $2.00 usd and FREE shipping!

I noticed in their notes at the bottom that they "Will not mark a package as a "Gift" as it is against US customs."

I am not worried about the risk of wasting $2.00 on the lights should I not get them or something, but I am worried about getting the package and having like $20.00 due to customs crap...
Any thoughts?

How can it be possible to buy, make, and ship something like this across the world for $2.00?
Like I said, it is basically 2 mini "head lights" each with like 15 LEDs, and they also come with a controler for flashing options.
I will try it and report. Says 15-20 days for standard shipping.

It's china! That is why! You are talking about the country that pays it's workers $.50 per day to make parts, probably 12 hr days, 6 days a wk. And probably being made by a 5yr old and 2 grains of rice a day! Sorry I know thats not exactly true, but china makes stuff for extremely cheep! I have bought ebay china. It has worked out. Shipping is cheep, but yea it take 3-4 wks. And the parts they make is cheep price too, sometimes quality too. But worth it for the price and just buy another next year. And this is off topic. You should post it in the Off topic area.

it's definitely worth a try.

oh, and the customs to be paid is determined by the VALUE of the package.

ie: $2 item you wont pay 20$
