I'd suggest a shift kit for the new tranny and a good cooler if you don't already have one, that should help it live longer next time.

 

Thanks. Ya I checked they do include a shift kit in their install. I had one in the last one too. Ya I got 2 transmission coolers. It doesn't help so much when the previous rebuilders didn't do it correctly. But with this place it will be done correctly and last a long time.

 

My brothers tranny just went out. Found a shop who sounds very knowledgable in AZ. THey sell on eBay, have 100% positive feedback. Anyways, they will sell a rebuilt 46RH with 2 YR warranty, unlimited miles, for $750. I am going to try it out.

 

I know ebay is good for some stuff but when it is that important at least make sure you talk with them on the phone.

 

Forgot to post up the update. I finally got my truck back last Friday, just in time for camping the next day. After them telling me the transfer case needed a tune up with seals and shift fork, and chain was stretched. I knew it was leaking and had went to check shift fork and chain. So I let them do it. So now I got a 3yr warranty on the transmission and partial warranty on the transfer case.

Now how it drives. It is almost back to 100% perfect. It needs adjustment on the TV cable. (The valve is more sensitive than before, so doing it one click at a time.) Before that line blew it was 100% perfect.

I can't wait to take it offroading!

Oh yea! And for once in a few years it rained all day. That never happens anymore. To bad it all dried up the next day! I did get to play in the mud for a minute when I was parking my 24ft travel trailer. I even had to put it in 4wd so I don't throw mud, it was going up a incline. Small pic of that one, just the mud on the tire. It don't look like much but it was bad enough. I even fell into that hole where that tree is. No problem even in 2wd and that heavy tailer attached, I love my locker!
