Default Help! Fluid leaking into the cab of my Dakota

Need an opinion desparately.
I bought my first truck three weeks ago and it has developed a serious problem.
It being an older Dakota (1992), I've been keeping an eye on the oil pressure, temp, etc. for problems.
I used engine degreaser and washed the gunk off with the garden hose and left it to dry overnight. When I drove it the next day, yellow brown fluid started to leak from under the dash on both the driver and passenger side. I assumed some of the filthy water from degreasing the engine might have gotten into the air heater ducts for the cab so I wasn't too concerned.
Today while driving, the engine came close to overheating and I had to pull over and shut it off. Also, a steamy mist came out of the vents into the cab.
I bought a haynes manual the same day I bought the truck and was looking at the possiblity that the heater core was leaking (or the hoses to or from it). What are the chances that the fluid is from a holy heater core and not from degreasing wash-off that somehow got into the air ducts? Can't drive it til I figure it out and fix it.

I would bet on the heater core leaking.
