Default 1995 dakota starting issues...

I have a 95' v8, 4x4, 134,000 dodge dakota i bought from a friend for cheap because it wasnt running i had the great idea of buying it and fixing it so that i could have a cheap truck.

When i bought it, it would not start or anything. I fixed the fusible link and she started right up. topped her off with new fluids and went down to the local auto store to buy some cleaning supplies. right when i pulled into the parking lot it shut off and would not turn over anymore. i would turn the key, lights would come on and no turn over, fuel pump kicks in also.

i called my neighbor and he came down and moved my steering column up and down a couple of times and it started right up. he said in older cars and trucks the wiring sometimes get crimped due to where the wires are in the tilt column.

Well, i am having the same problem again...this time as much as i move the column up and down, i just cant get the truck to turn over.
please help

Tons of possibilities. Check the ignition wire.

Check security key on kick panel if vehicle has one. Had same problem changed starter when it was just security key.

Sounds like you will need to check the wiring going the the ignition (where you put your key).
