I am still on the fence with this 91 Dak - I have all the info I need now - BUT the truck is throwing code 41, and I have no info on this. All I have so far is the meaning :

Code 41 : Generator field not switching properly

I still need to find out what this error is for. It SOUNDS like it's related to the alternator or possibly the voltage regulator. ANYONE have ANY idea what it means is wrong, and what can be done to rectify it?

Please, I need to know before I can buy it, and the seller can only hold it for me until tomorrow morning....

 

Yes the alternator will be the most likely cause. Most auto parts stores will test it for free.
