Welp....
Well, unless an absolutely AWESOME deal floats by, I'll be the proud owner of a 1991 Dak Xtd cab, 5.2, auto, and manual windows/locks. That being the case, I figure I'll intro myself now...
My name is Louis, and I live in the huge metropolis of Lubbock, TX - Home of Buddy Holly, and Texas Tech University. Married with three kids between ages of 5 and 10 (hence the need for the extended cab).
This will be my forst forray into the world of Dodge. I have owned a 78 Nova 2-door (13 second daily driver - many years ago), a 87 ford mustang, an 88 mazda b-2200, a 87 nissen maxima station wagon, and currently driving a 91 mazda 626 sedan - which will be sold as soon as the tires and shocks are installed on the dak. My wife is currently driving a 02 nissan quest van.
I started my search for a truck, considering the dakota's = hoping to find a good 2nd gen in my price range - but nope... no problem, i like the 1st gen also... Drove several - this was the only 2wd I could ever get time to drive - and all of the 4wd trucks drove like they had a 4cyl under the hood, and spaghetti for steering linkage.
The 91 I'll be getting is a lovely shade of heavily oxidized brown over tan. Plans are to sand down, and paint the brown to either green or maroon. I will be gettig the thermo replaced with a 195 degree unit, new tires and shocks, and instead of replacing the alt, will see if I can get it rebuilt here, for a lot cheaper. With the code 41 it's throwing, but has been charging, etc fine for a while now, and runs great, that maybe it's just a couple fo diodes or maybe the volt regulator is beginning to fail.
Once i have it, and get it cleaned up some, I will try and post some pics.

First off, welcome to the forum!
You ought to love the truck once you get it and start driving it. They are fun. While you're here, you should read over the 2 faqs pages. One is based around maintenance and the other around modifications. Definatley post up some picture! We like pictures.
