Default Another question....

Well, tomorrow morning, I should be taking delivery of my 91 Dak 2WD - and I know that it's needing a little bit of work - my question here is :

What size sockets / wrenches should I pack to take with me for the following :

Water neck (to replace thermo)
Shocks (front and rear - they are all shot to *%^&)
Alternator

Also, for any of these, do I need any screwdrivers, etc?

I have a full complement of handtools, etc. I realize I'll likely be using an impact for the shocks, and have one available as well - but if anyone could provide this info, to help save me some time tomorrow, it would be GREATLY appreciated!

Nope, you're only allowed 1 question :P JK!

Take a 1/2, 9/16, and 5/8 wrench and deep and shallow sockets (its good to be prepared!). Also take a 15 mm wrench for the belt tensioner. You shouldn't need a screwdriver but I always end up using flat head screwdrivers as mini pry bars for various things. Again though, wouldn't hurt to be prepared and take some. You'll also need some kind pliers (either channel locks or a large pair of needle nose) for getting off the hose clamps. If the hoses are rotted onto the housing, you'll need to cut it off with a utility knife and replace it.

You're also going to need smaller than 1/2 for the wiring to the alternator, but I don't know off the top of my head what the size is. Hopefully somebody else will chime in!

Lol, we posted at the same time... it cracks me up the first 3 things listed by both of us are 1/2, 9/16, 5/8 cause those 3 cover like 90% of the bolts on our trucks!!! :P

But the belt tensioner is a 15, not a 14.

The alternator is one of the smaller metric sizes, 7 or 8mm I believe. I hate those little nuts.

The bigger nuts on the alternator may be 10mm.
