Rear Shocks...
Well i like to kinda push my towing capactie past the limit. I usually tow a 3000lb scrap trailer. Yeah, its very slow, but she still goes. I cant really seem to get any shocks that can hold my truck from riding extremely low, i know this is probably because of the fact that im not suppose to be towing nearly this amount. What do you guys suggest?
You could get coilovers, or air shocks, or add-a-leafs, or air bags. These are all in the same general price range. The coilovers and add-a-leafs will give a harsher ride when the bed is empty but help a lot when towing or hauling. The air shocks and air bags will keep the factory ride when the bed is empty and help a lot with hauling or towing, but you need a way to pump them up.
I have monroe sensa-trac coilovers on my 4x4 and I pulled my 2wd home with my 4x4 (estimated between 5500-6000 lbs total weight I was pulling/hauling) and my truck did it without a struggle or the rear end sagging. Also, for me personally, I don't notice the harsher ride in the back cause I have my torsion bars cranked so tight the front is even harsher.

Nope, the torsion bars are only on the IFS of the 4x4.
If you already have towing shocks, I would suggest add-a-leafs to raise the spring rate of the leaf spring pack.

Yes easy but you do have to remove the spring packs. That can be time consuming. You can but some that go over all the leafs too. No dissemble needed.
I have air shocks. I love them. Easy install. They are adjustable. So you can have it soft or air it up for the load handling. Easy to air up. Just go to your closest gas station air pump. For a quarter or two and your done. I haul a 24ft travel trailer. The title says 5,999LBS. The Dmv worker put it down a bit so I could do the lifetime registration. Also my drag strip TA. The car and trailer put out a combine weight of about 5,000lbs.

add a leaf is the way to go,
the ride is a lot firmer but with the load it will be fine
it may raise ride tight 1-2 inc depending on kit

Ummm, guys? If he already has the coil-over shocks and the truck still sags, wouldn't that be indicative of bad springs. Wouldn't the add-a-leaf just be a band-aid for a more serious issue. Not lookin to sound like a toolbag but, if I had some beefy shocks in the rear and the trucked still sagged, I'd be lookin to replace those leaf springs but quick before I did anymore haulin'. I'm just sayin'
Not necessarily. There were several different leaf springs packs that Dodge put on Dakotas...

Its very possible and plausible that the OP has the light springs on the back of his truck and the monroe sensa-tracs have a 1200 lb rating, bringing his total up to 2,450 lbs. My truck has the 2,000 lb springs and the coiloves, putting it at 3200 lbs.
It would be much cheaper for the OP to buy a set of add-a-leafs to raise the spring rates than to get a pair of higher rated factory spring packs.

Ahh! I gotcha....so his truck may be sagging solely because he's overloading it. My wife always says I look at things in "worst case scenario", guess this was just another case of that...
