Lol. If that aint bad Id like to see what is bad to you. It sheered off half a main gear and shot it through the case. But I suppose 75 percent or so of my parts are still in there so I guess its not THAT bad. Lol.

Honestly 318 other than wet/icy traction you dont gain much. Day to day driving it makes no difference. And beyond that, if you want 4 wheel drive when your off road you have a handy little lever that lets you tell the truck that. I personally wouldnt make any of my trucks full time 4.

Ill post up some pics of the jeep as I go. Its not a bad little truck. Ill probably put spacers and blocks under it so it sits on 33's. Its got 31" bfgs now. I cant make it that big cus its my road rig. Lol. Most people have jeeps on trailers behind rigs. Nope, I got a jeep to drive cus my rigs are too big.

I hear that, but it rains a lot around here, and I'd like the ability to hit the gas as hard as I want without breaking the the rear end loose. I was pulling onto an interstate the other day around a 270* onramp in the rain and the rear end got a little loose on me... and it's not as though I was trying to break the rear end loose, I just had to get from 20 mph to 70 mph in a very short distance.

Can you do me a favor... when you do the transmission swap, can you tell me if the 231 and 241 have the same bolt pattern where they bolt onto the transmission?

Lol. Side by side wont do you much good. My 231d is in chunks. It was destroyed when the chain slipped and ate half of the rear casing.

I guess I could pull the 231 I just blew up in the jeep. Outer dimensions are the same, just the dodge version has a 1/4 inch wider chain.

Yuppers, spose I can do that.

I can tell you offhand that my 46rh was as long as this entire assembly. When I do the sye it should be a full 10" shorter than the 46rh setup.

Can I ask one more favor of you skyshark? I just found a 242 on craigslist locally for $100 but it's out of a jeep with a 21 spline input. Any chance you could tell me if the input shafts look swappable between the 231 and 241? As in diameter and length... I'm not asking you to take the case apart!

Nope sorry, Im not in a helpful mood today.

My 231 guts are buried in my shed. Ill work on pulling them out.

If you wanna try it but dont wanna destroy your Tcase to do it let me know. Ive got the mainshaft from my 231 that fragged thats good and complete Ill mail you for shipping costs. Be like 10 bucks.

I would say from an outward glance that they look pretty darn similar. I think the mounting bolts look the same. Ill verify and let you know.

Lol....also note the mass amount of non heat resistant grease some moron put on those splines. Its like glue now, nasty crumbly crap.

Good news and bad news for ya. The bolt patterns are the same between the 231 and 241, and assuming you get the case off a manual it should swap input shafts fine. Bad news is the two cases are clocked at different angles If you use a good CV shaft you may be able to account for this. Maybe not. I dont know for sure.

Check advance adapters to see if you can change the angles they sit at.
