Shes a little rough but the guy has another really clean plain ol' 2wd 87 for $800 that im gonna use for parts. the best part of the whole deal is that.... it'll be my 1st car!! very excited, will post pics of both trucks soon.

The Dakota Express was a one year deal, the first year Dakotas were made actually, 1987. They made only 700 of them. the other stepside dakotas made were the Lil Red Express Dakota, and the warrior, which was based on the warlock. So the "1989 dakota Express" is actually a 1987, check the driver's side door jam, unless the cab has been replaced... then it wont do you much good. lol. Nice truck though! should check out my Dakota express. Just like the one you posted pics of here! only now it is in many peices due to the restoration i am in the process of.

Very nice truck my friend, I saw one of those in the wreckers a couple months back, I was debating whether to steal the box off and throw it on my ext cab. Anyway enjoy your truck eh.

Wow, that is very interesting my friend! Do you have any idea what year was lowest production perhaps? The only statistics that i know are that there were only 400 2 wheel drive models and 300 4x4's. One thing is clear anyway, they are rare little trucks!

Actually i am contemplating on what to actually do with my dakota express. I can't decide between keeping it to be a proud owner of a rare peice of american history, or restoring it to sell it and make some good cash > If i knew that the market was there, and i would be able to get every penny of what the truck is worth, i would sell it in a heart beat. I just know that if that urge ever comes to have it back, i will never find another one. I guess thats when you just have to realize that it is nothing more than a material thing and it wont mean anything in the long run!
