Transmission question
Automatic or manual?
Either way they should work, but try to be more specific with your questions. The 42rh was the auto trans put behind the v6 from '88 until it changed to the 42re (electronically controlled instead of hydraulically controlled) in '96. If you want a beefier transmission for your truck, you could look for a 46rh.
The only problem you might run into is your speed sensor fitting. You have a cable driven speed sensor, and the '95 has an electronic speed sensor. Just make sure the holes for the sensors are the same.

Sorry, yes I meant an Automatic. I am hoping that I can swap the speedo/sensor gear out of my tranny into the "95. My trans acts like the brakes are suddenly applied when it shifts into high, but if I push the O/D off switch, it runs all right, but I work about 35 miles from home and am afraid it may leave me for dead. Thanks for the info.
