Another new part!!
Could have, yup. But I'm blacking out the tails whenever I get around to painting my new tailgate ('91 model... doesn't have the 3rd brake light), so the reverse lenses aren't going to be around much longer.
you could do some sort of momentary switch for your backup lights and find some cool way to mount it to your shifter. or a way to do 3 switches. 1 for front lights on it, 1 rear facing and the momentary one for your backup lights. so just a flip of the switch cause your hand is already there. Not sure about laws there 318 but here in minnesota any lights above cab height have to becovered on all public roads (off road use only).
Also i have found for my self anyways a good spot to have switches. on the dash between my parking break and my head light switch. I put driving lights on my bumper, same lights on both sides of my receiver hitch in the back, and i took red marker lights and mounted them low under the dash in side. Make night driving easyer on the eyes at least for me.
I recommend using lighted switches for lights, the one switch i use for the hitch lights is red so i know there on if there is something in the way that i cant tell that they are on. I wired it in such a way to that if both bulbs burn out or ground issue the switch wount light

Wouldn't surprise me if thats a law here too, but what cop is going to pull you over for having them uncovered when all you have to do to get out of that one is keep the covers in the cab and say "Whoops, the covers are right here, I forgot to put them on." I'll just have to cover them for inspections once a year.

hopefully they let you black it out. Other wise keep a spare set for that inspection day. Lucky you with that light bar. I have always wanted one. I need a paint job and rust repair to make it even look good anymore.

Just an update... got the light bar taken apart and the 4 supports stripped down. I just finished painting the front supports. I need to figure out a way to hang the oddly shaped rear supports so I can paint them next.

Once I get the rear supports painted, I'm going to strip down the main loop and weld on my own light mount tabs before I paint it.

Well I got my new light mounting tabs made and welded on today.
Here is the only picture I have of the old setup...

And here is the new setup:

All I have left is weld on the original tabs I cut off, paint it, install it and wire it up. The other 4 peices are already painted. The 2 original tabs are going toward the bottom of the tube and to hold the rearward facing lights.
BTW, my welding skills are getting better :P

Sweet. I think I need to find a buddy with a cnc machine.
I spent the afternoon getting my but handed to me by the jeeps 242. That thing has more crap mounted in the way of the tcase than anything Ive ever seen.

Actually, those I cut out by hand, it would have taken too long to wait for him to have time to help me out.
I wish I knew someone with a cnc plasma cutter!! That would have cut those tabs out in no time.
