on the 87 -91 if the fuel gauge f--ks up it's usually a pump problem. think you may have got your pump replaced by someone who did not know what they were doing or you got a bad replacement pump.

on the 90 there is a fuel pressure regulator on the back of the throttlebody. it has a vacuum line on it that may be bad, it's real short. or the pressure regulator could be bad. will not show up on the codes.
