painting a muffler

Default painting a muffler

im guna get some new mufflers for my truck but the one that i want rust pretty fast as some people say, so im going to paint it, can i just use some rustolium or will the heat just make it crack and peel? or should i use a paint just for exhaust systems?

Use paint for headers.

Engine paint. Make sure your prepwork is top notch and you won't have any problems

Don't use the so-called 600 degree BBQ paint, I tried that to paint my exhaust tips matte black, sandblasted them and cleaned/prepped them thoroughly first. That lasted all of two weeks.

Use a high-temp paint, like engine enamel. Also think about getting a chrome tip unless you like the look
