Thats cus im hella pimp, and have installed many a non factory seat in my day. Tellin ya dude.....original rails is the way to go.

On a side note, rhino(or equivalent non expensive stuff) the interior instead of carpet. If you really want carpeting Ill send you mine. Its much less craptastic than yours.

Skyshark suggested instead of trying to make the new tracks fit the floor, or the floor fit the new tracks, that I make the original tracks fit the new seats. It would require making brackets and doing some welding, but it might work. I'll look at it tomorrow.
Couldn't you just take the durango tracks out of a durango and put them in the dak? Or (probably harder, if it can be done) take the tracks off the dak seats and put them on the durango seats...?

I have the durango tracks... they don't fit the floorpan of the Dakota. So what I'm going to try first is mounting the Dakota tracks to the Durango seats.

guess I need to learn to read.. Good luck swapping the seat tracks. If that doesn't work out... This might be way off and just a thought but can you cut a section out of the durango floor track and make them shorter to fit? If that was to work it might be less work.

You can cut seat tracks, but it messes things up. You lose the rear stop, so you can back the seat off the rails. Youd have to make another one, which is actually a bigger pain than you think. Then, depending on the length of the part of the rail that slides, you may lose mobility of the seat.

Trust me, its best to use the originals.

Here is something I just thought of! The drivers seat is powered... I guess I'm going to loose the power sliding function going to the dakota's tracks?

I didnt think about that either, but yes you would lose the power function. You could still wire heat or whatnot into them. You could still use the durangos seat rails and cut the foot off and move it like I mentioned, but your gonna have a bunch of rail sticking out the back of your seat. Guess its one of those da**ed if ya do and Da**ed if ya dont things.

Lol, I gave up! I'll try again soon, but I had too many other projects going on and it rained non-stop for like 4 days straight end of last week. I just put it back together today cause I need it tomorrow, but I'll get back to it soon enough. I decided to make brackets that go from the factory holes/studs to where the tracks sit. I'll just cut out a peice of 3/16 inch steel and weld some studs on it.

Several years ago, we were putting in my freshly built engine into my TA. It was snowing that night. We worked till 4am. It was freezing a$$ out side but we go the engine in. We were soaked due to all the snow.
