Question Intake Holley Carburetor hissing??

My Vehicle- 93 Dakota Sport 4x4 auto V6 engine 178k.

About a year ago I had some problems with my fuel injector wires and during the process of fixing my wires I took my Holley throttle body off and replaced my EGR valve, Idle air control valve, and my carb gasket. Since than I hear a hissing/blowing sound coming from the throttle body area. The sound is really loud when I first start my truck in the morning or when it sits for 8 hours. But after 10 minutes of driving the hissing is very quite and I can't hear it until next start up. The hissing sound makes my engine sound like crap at times and my truck sometimes shakes.

What could be causing a loud hissing sound from my holley throttle body?

BTW GO PHILLIES

Carburetor??????? Are you talking about the throttle body? Almost sounds like a vacuum leak. Did you break one of the vacuum lines when you removed them? After 16 years they tend to dry rot.

Mine does that too. It is the IAC sucking in air. It is more prevalent with low restriction air filters, like K&N. It is fine!

LoL crap I always get confused thinking my truck has a carburetor. Anyway, I remember removing all my vacuum lines, but I never replaced them.

Does regular auto part stores sell new vacuum hoses?

Yeah, any autoparts store will have vacuum hoses, but after reading Crazy's post, I agree with him. If I take my air cleaner off and run the engine (only when I work on it, I don't drive it like that), it hisses loud. I can see it doing the same with a low restriction air cleaner.

But it wouldn't hurt to check the vacuum lines.
