Default Fuel system? or fuel pump?

Ok so i have posted before if maybe my pump is going out but i dont think it is my problem is with my gauge i run out of gas at half tank and from that fill up is 10 gallons just barely now what makes me think its something else is i can go around a corner when its on a half and it will drop below a half... my uncle said he had a vehicle where there was a little hose that made his do the same but i thought on our trucks the pumps all one unit. Is it possible or has someone had the same problem that the pickup or a small hose inside could be damaged thats preventing fuel from being sucked up? im just shoting into the air here trying to figure something out.....really dont have 200 for a whole pump just yet

If you hsve access to a salvage yard, that is a good place to start if you want to replace the pump for cheaper. The one here gets $75 for an electric in tank pump.

I have had my pump out and there is no "hose" in there that sucks off the bottom of the tank. It always sucks of the bottom. Your pump could be getting weak (as I suspect mine is as well) and works fine when there is alot of pressure from a full tank and then when it gets 10 gallons down (less than 1/3 tank with a 14 gallon tank) it has to work harder to pull the fuel. I believe yours is like mine where the regulator is on the pump on the tank, not on the fuel rail so the pump would be a good start IMO.

Fuel float is also part of the pump. new one should fix that as well.

anychance someone that knows they have a 22gal tank can look under on the front or the bottom towards the back for a stamp that says 22 or someone with a smaller one look for a stamp with a number. thanks

The stamp is usually the time/ date that it was molded. It is possible it may stand for the gallon size. One way to check is to see is if the front of the tank has a lip on it, it may resimble a L shape tank. Not 100% on it.

Both my tanks also had a 22 there, so it could very well mean capacity, but I'm not 100% sure on that either.

Alright well thanks guys i emailed dodge about getting a build sheet but they have failed to respond so far. Looks like i will have to go down to one of the dealerships. Wish i still worked at one it would be easier.
