Unhappy HELP!!!!shuts off when it reaches operating temp

new guy here from vegas....

i have a 93 dakota v6 with 150k. i have had soooooo many problems with this truck. i dont know why i still have it. but here goes my current problem is when the truck is cold it runs like a champ but once it gets to operating temperature it dies and wont start(it does it to me in middle of traffic....which just makes me wanna get off and blow the damn thing sky high). when im able to push it off to the side of the road(when the rear brakes arent all locked up) i let cool off for about 15-30 min and it starts rite up and its good for another miles.. when its cool it works flawlessly

this is my work truck but it just pisses me off that one thing after another just keeps going bad.(the engine is very good its just everthying on it or around itthat goes bad) the truck is very well maintained and i have replaced soo many things on it i just dont wanna let it go. RANT OVER...

any help or info is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

i was thinking of replacing the oxygen sensor or the oi pump drive gear.

(ive replaced just about every sensor on the engine for previous problems)

I would start by replace the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor. You'll want to replace the 2 prong sensor, not the 1 prong sensor.

gonna try replacing the coolant sensor today. is that the sensor located behind the alternator next to the engine coolant return hose??

Yes, but there are two of them. The 1 prong sensor is for the gauge, and the 2 prong sensor is for the computer... you're going to want to replace the 2 prong sensor.
