Default been gone for a bit im back and with a new toy

so basically i finally got a new damn job and got internet back on and im in the process of gettin the dak back on the road. my brother gave me his truck since he owed me money so now im the owner of a 1990 Dodge Ram Charger. dont know much about it other than my brother is the second owner and he put the body and interior through hell but it has a nice running v8 in it lol. so im thinking transplant into the dak what you guys think

Well, that '90 would a an LA engine, and your '92 is a magnum, so there would be a whole lot of work involved with that swap!! You'd have to change out the computers and wiring harnesses. You'd be better off selling the ramcharger and buying a magnum v8 or fixing up the ramcharger.

the ramcharger i had was a tank, it was a 78 se with the 400 auto, dealer installed air and bright orange. i ran that thing with the top off all the time, i kinda miss that thing.

i believe its carbuerated so couldnit i just drop and go? i guess the trans would make a difference tho

the simplest way is to use the block out of the ram and put your heads and centerdome on it. your 92 is multi-port injected and i think the 90 ram is duel-point injected through the throttlebody (like my 89 3.9). if you dak engine is bad but the heads are good your laughing, but if the heads are bad then have them redone and use that block it's a lot cheaper than a complete engine rebuild. mechanical work is a whole lot easier than a complete wiring job.

87 dak is carbed. 88-91 duel port injected through the throttlebody. 92-96 multiport injected through the heads.

p.s. in a snowstorm, tornado, hurricane or even just off the pavement you'll be glad you got a dakota!

my dak is v6 tho id need some v8 heads in which case i mite as well just buy a motor. hmmm what to do what to do anyone in arkansas want to buy a texas registered ram charger lol ill have to file for lost title
