2wd & 4wd spindles???
I changed my breaks on my truck, put evertyhing together, the calliper bolts were crossthreaded so bad they wouldnt tighten. I thought the caliper was bent before i realized it was the caliper bolts. Anyways the spindle is crossthreaded, really bad, so I gotta go to the junk yard and get spindles, I was just wondering do I have to pull them off a 4x4 or can i get it from a 2wd is there any difference, if its the same gen?
Also would there be any need to replace the wheel bearing hub assembly as well, my boyfriend told me that i need to but there is nothing wrong with them, but if the spindle being cross thread has anything to do with wheel bearing hub assembly...please let me know what I need or if I can just get away with getting the spindle, and should i just get it from a 4x4 just to be safe.
Thanks

So what your saying is the caliper slides won't thread back in?
If that's the case take a trip to the nearest auto parts store, ask them to cross reference Napa part #BK 6751539, they are not cheap but it'll solve your problem.

So just get that and do it myself, its liek a heli coil kit?? I just really dont wanna screw up and do it crooked or anything, guess i gotta be careful, but I mean the parts already wrecked, so Its worth a shot spending $50 on a heli coil kit rather than $1500 at the dealership, cause no junkyards in calgary have 4wd dakotas. so hopefully I can get everything done and have my truck up and runnin by the end of the weekend, Thanks for your help found alot on how to use the kit from just the parts number.
The slides on the drivers side seem to be tight, i dont think theyre stripped im pretty sure its just one of the slides on the passenger side. I dont know if on the driver side i should take out the slides just to see if theyre stripped? or if I should just leave them...Ive done calipers and breaks lots at work and have never come across this problem. So I dont know if I should double check them, or if theyre holding fine, it should be fine. Sorry for all the questions. I guess Ill get the kit and do the passanger side, I guess if the driver side isnt stripped thats a good thing cause everything on the driver side seems to be held on tightly.
So in the kit it comes with liek a heli coil? or is it just a slide that you have to use the slide to thread it in. Or you use the heli coil first than put the slide in. I called napa to see if they had the part and they do, I just dont know what it looks liek so im not sure what to expect. I just dont want to do this wrong and make matters worse.

No problem on questions I didn't even know anything like this existed till my mechanec showed me.
Looks just like this

If the drivers side is tight I'd leave it alone, it's self tapping and will make it's own new threads.

Worked liek a charm. Thank you so much.
I bled my breaks but they are still a little spongey. They were always liek this i dont know if they should be hard...or if its liek this because thats how its always been, It breaks right away but takes a little bit of time to get all the way released I dont know if I should bleed the again, but I know there is no air in them...what do you think???
