Question Oil is pouring out

Not sure if one thing has to do with the other , but i recently changed my starter
( 1989 dakota 3.9 auto trans 6 cyl. ) and after doing so , oil is now pouring out
from everywhere . is there something i may have done when i replaced starter to cause this to happen ?

Engine oil? That seems odd. Can you tell any aproximate area? There shouldnt be anything related to the starter that would make that happen.

If you took your oil filter off and put it back on you may have to replace it with a new one. I don't have much mechanical knowledge, hope someone else can help you out better. It could have been caused by excessive pressure causing seals to go out. Good luck!!!

Like skyshark said, can you try to tell an approximate area?

The engine starter, and it's mounting hardware, doesn't come in contact with anything directly containing, or transporting, engine oil.

That could be. Would be kinda hard to hit though? Guess if you got a tool in there just right.

Yea, could be. It's happened to people before.
