Default Problem with My 1992 Dakota

First off it is an extended cab 4wd with a 5.9L swap done
a while back I put an aftermarket stereo in and like an idiot didn't hook up the ground. So it worked fine until my friend turned up the volume and at that point in time my interior lights and radio stopped working, I discovered power was no longer getting to the radio's memory and the domelight/interiorlights. For a temporary fix I ran a power cable from the battery to the radio and it works fine (i also connected the ground). but I still haven't solved the problem and have no lights. Well about 2 weeks later I towed my buddies trailer for him and it came loose and hit slid under my truck, it wasn't a big deal but the next morning my heater blower doesn't work and my power windows don't work, when I try to roll the windows down or use the blower my parking brake light comes on, it also comes on now when the truck is in reverse! I don't know if the two problems are related but I have looked for places where these wires would meet for the first problem and the 1990 and 1994 Dakota manuels in the FAQ section don't cover it....I've heard of several other Dakota's having a similar problem (like one of these, but never both) and I've looked for anything I could find, it seems like I have a bad ground but I can't seem to find one and this is a very time consuming task.... HELP PLEASE!

Yes check all fuses check the FAQ for a diagram. Under the hood and dash. Next is it very time consuming. Nothing is easy about it. Just trace out all wires. Something is shorting out somewhere. The 95 service manual that is in the FAQ has every wiring diagram in it. Good luck!

For the radio and interior light issue, +1 to what festerw said!

For the other issue, sounds to me like the trailer may have snagged some wires on its way under your truck. All you can do is look for any damaged wires. Like Crazy said, it's time consuming and it sucks, but there isn't a straight answer we can offer for odd wiring issues without being able to see your truck. But I'd start by looking at the rear ABS sensor harness wires.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
and I cannot emphasize it enough!

I found the fuse and replaced it now my stereo and lights are working fine (which has put me in an amazing mood). I've been out of town and haven't had a chance to post this. If it is not too cold tomorrow I will crawl under and look for junked wires where the trailer made it's mark. I'll keep ya posted

well the only thing that looked out of place underneath was a thick black wire that contained like 3 other wires was ripped in two pieces but I haven't had the chance to see if that was the cause and I hope to do so tomorrow, I'll tell you how it goes
