Default t case swap?

last night I was trying to pull an suv out of a ditch and I think i snapped the chain in my t case. looking to upgrade rather than repair. besides different length drive shafts, a 241 is a bolt in vs the 231?
a little info here http://dodgeram.org/tech/specs/tranfer_case.htm and http://quad4x4.com/Dodge%20Transfer%20Case%20Parts.htm

My understanding is it will bolt to the transmission. But the front drive shaft yoke may be a different size u joints. And the rear drive shaft slip yoke splines will be different as well as the length as you know. But drive shafts are easy, because the shop will make it.(Custom built only)

95 318slt will probably will know more since he did a swap very close. He always does his homework. He is going skiing this week. So he might not be around till he gets back.

I defiantly want to do that swap one day. Post up everything you get and all the pics.

From a little further research the input shaft is the same splines and the shaft is the same length. As for the outputs they several. Do you have a 241 lined up? If you need help look at this site for all the variations. http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...ge.html#Dakota

Ive got a 241 off a chevy if you need me to count splines or what not. They will bolt up, but they are clocked very differently. Not sure if you care or not, but it will stick down a lot lower. The front yoke is different(much larger).

Is the front yoke really that different? My 242 had the exact same front yoke as the 231. Are you sure thats not just because its a chevy t case?

And your front driveshaft should work fine. You will more than likely have to have a rear driveshaft custom made.
