Default 8 1/4

just woundering how stronge the 8 1/4 is?
will it hold up with v-8 5spd and drag radials?

Oh yea it will. It is very strong. I have been putting mine to its limits. And no problem! It is almost equal to the Dana 44 in stock strength, according to one of the offroad magazine.

But if your going to drag race it you will want a locker in the rear or a LSD.

It already has a eaton posi unit. the trouble is I've already toasted one drag racing I smashed the spider gears. Ended up useing a 9 1/4 rear out of a 99 r/t but it don't fit the truck properly. it's of set and look's like ****. I have a 8 1/4 sitting in the garage.I would like to install is in my truck but since I've broke one already I'm not sure.
The new/used 8 1/4 is 5 bolt that I like. always wanted to good to 5 liug. I like the weld wheels.

Anyone have any info on this?
Should I go with the 8.3/4. (weight is factor) there big and heavy..
no ford stuff for me sorry ford people..
