wobbling issues, please help
hey guys, i have a 1992 Dakota. long bed, 5.2l V-8 and im having a bad wobble issue. it started out to where you could barely feel it but now its to the piont where the steering wheel jerks in your hand and it feels like the front driver side wheel is about to fall off.(now its starting to feel like both sides are wobbling) it caused the driver side lug nuts to come loose at one point. so after that i was positive it was the wheel bearings, so i changed them today and it still feels exactly the same. i noticed the bushings on the stablelizer bar are worn out, but when i searched this forum for "woblbing", there was a guy who had said his stableizer bar linkage had snaped but it only wobbled when he turned sharped or hit a bump, and mine does it all the time. i imagine its going to be ball joints or tie rod ends, etc.. if anyone could help me out and let me know what is most likely the problem that would be great. i would love to just go in and replace everything it could be, but i really dont have the money right now, and fixing just whats wrong with it is going to be tight. So thanks alot in advance, i really apprichate it.
Most likely like you said ball joints and or tie rod ends. Just lift up the truck and start moving things around. Move the tire up and down. Side to side. Move the steering back and forth. You will need an aliment too.
i had a broken stabilizer bar for 3 years under my dak. it was broken in the driver side frame bushing where you could not see it. it ran fine at any speed. i replaced all the bushings and the bar and there was no noticeable difference. i think crazy is right. go for the tie rods, they will cause your wheel to wobble.
