An old man once told me,"Four wheel drive only means that you get stuck in more interesting places." For daily driving, you really don't need 4wd. My 2wd 318 has never let me down..... I have even had the distinct pleasure for pulling 'holier-than-thou' 4wd owners out of ditches and drifts. Remember, you may have 4wd but all cars have 4 wheel brakes. A few years ago, I leased a 2008 Ford F150. V8 4wd, limited slip front and rear diffs. I have to say that my old BMW did better in the snow than the truck. Lastly, you may own the ultimate in off road technology, but if you don't drive smart, mother nature has a way of sneaking up on you.
