Default Steering shaft spacer

"You can use the 2in body kit. It says only for 4wd, but It will work for 2wd. All you need to do is cut in a 1 inch spacer for you steering shaft"

Does anybody have any photos of the spacer installed and what would you use for the spacer?

And would you need a 2inch spacer then for a 3inch body lift kit on a 2wd truck.

I did the install on my 2wd at the time. I don't have specific picture to it, since I swapped the truck over to 4wd. But it is very simple. For the spacer I just found a steel tube that is similar to the width and wall thickness. Found it in a junk pile of stuff. You can buy something from most home department stores or just go to your local welder or muffler shop. And bend it to resemble the shape of the of the stock rod.

Here is a simple pic of what I am talking about. The red is the spacer.

Yes that is my guess 2in spacer for 3in body lift. If you can find a 3in they are no longer made and not sold in stores. Finding a used one is your only way. Or just buy the individual spacers and bolts.

understand kind of what ur saying and will probably do it myself, but you think a place around me like Marion 4X4 where they install lift kits would make that adjustment to make the lift kit work for my 2wd? (ill call them but i think theyre closed now) And it says on that website that on the V8 trucks the fan will need to be replaced, does that mean removed and then reinstalled or does that mean you have to buy a new fan that adjusts to the lift.

Yes it is easy enough you can do it your self. But you do need a strong weld on the shaft. Just take it to a welder or a muffler shop. Cost $20 or so to weld it for you.

Yes the 4wd shop could do it. If you having them install it too they will charge quite a bit for labor.

For the fan. All you need to do is make a bracket to relocate the fan shroud lower 1in.
