Exclamation Newb Question !!

Hey guys, i am about to get rid of my neon and get a 95 Dakota v6 quad cab and i was wondering what key problems to look for when i goto purchase this truck. I had a 98 that had oil pump issues and i am just nto familiar with the 95s.. Anything will be helpful !!!

The 98 and 95 have the same style of engines. So most of that will be familiar to you. The typical issues is bad fuel gauge, bad IAC Idle Air Control valve. Thats it, the rest will be how well it was maintained. And its age. Ball joints, tie rod ends, ect will be bad with time on any vechicle.

Lol, true, but it seems like they go bad faster than average on these trucks! Keeping them greased on a regular basis will help A LOT though!

Read the FAQ at the top of this forum, then pull the error codes through your check engine light...if one of the sensors it out, it will tell you. Good thing to do/check before you buy it.

i found my ball joints and tie rods went more than usual, but then again i was never known to baby it (some real bad roads). i've owned trucks for the last 25 years and my 89 sport 4x4 was the toughest one i owned and easiest to work on.
watch your fuel gauge, if it starts to mess up the pump itself is usually not far behind.
