Finally Painting over that Ugly Wood Grain!

Default Finally Painting over that Ugly Wood Grain!

Decided To to paint that old wood grain. So here goes!

I just Picked some plastic paints and at my local hardware store.
Name:  021.jpg
Views: 112
Size:  100.9 KB


I like to set any of the pieces i paint down in a box so that i can put the lid back on to prevent debris.(and cats)

I Lightly sand with a wet sponge. I was told it would help the primer stick.

Cool! So what color is it going to be? I assume you're doing the cupholder peice too?

I'm painting it black. Yeah I've already done the cupholder it turned out so well I decided to paint the rest of it.

real nice. i had the brushed alum. dash with the deep red interior. kinda gets on your nerves after a while.

I like my wood grain too with my dark green truck and tan interior. But I've seen pictures of the wood grain up against other colors, like red, and it looks terrible!

Yeah mine is a wood on gray interior. I'll post some final install pics when I finish.

IMO the wood grain is a total eye sore and must be painted. The only time wood grain is acceptable is when it is genuine and done well, like in a Bentley. I don't think it looks right in most vehicles, Esp. a truck.
