Default 5.2 magnum from gen2

Did the 5.2 mag carry over to the 2nd gen? If so until what year? and would it work as a direct replacement in my '95 2wd 5.2, automatic w/ OD . Also will a 2nd gen trans fit, of course from a 2wd v8 truck.

Yes they did have them. Until 02 I believe it is. You can use one. But just use the long block. Use your intake and all the sensors. You can use an engine from 92-02 Ram, Van, Dakota, Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee

As for the transmission, no you can not use it. You will need one from 92-95 Ram, Van, Dakota.

I think they used the 360 'til '02 or so, but I think they quit using the 318 in '00. I could very well be wrong here cause I haven't spent much time researching the later daks, but I think the 4.7 was used besides the 318 from '98 on, and then replaced the 318 in 2001, and then the 4.7 HO replaced the 360 later. But any 318 or 360 from '92 until they quit using them can be used in our trucks.

But like Crazy said, the transmission cannot be used because they switched from hydraulic to electronic in '96, and our computers won't run the electronic transmissions.
