Has anyone taken (40/20/40) seats and center console out of a second generation Dakota and put them in a 1st generation Dakota? Ive got a 96 Dakota Extended Cab.

Yes, someone in here has. was a tough fit, if I remember right.

I have heard guys pulling the 60 half of the 60/40 out and putting in another passanger seat in place of the drivers seat. Thus leaving 20 for a center counsel. Only problem is that your recliner is on the right side.

Yes just like above you can do that. And we have pictures from 1 2nd gen seat swap. And 95 318slt started at one point the swap. He said the rear needs to be modified.

I yanked the buckets out of a daytona (same as omni, charger, shadow etc) and used them on the stock Dak seat brackets. I fabbed my own center console that doubles as storage and a 3rd seat - this is on an extended cab, The trick to make it like stock is to swap the passenger seat linkage from the dak seat to the donor chrysler so that the seat will still slide with one hand when flipped forward.

This was a link on this forum that I bookmarked. I can't find the thread, but you can see here. doesn't look too difficult. But check back when I am done with it, see if I have any hair left. I am going to go to a yard in the next couple of weeks and get a gen II seat 40/20/40 and swap it in. At my current pace i should have it done by 2015!

That link and write up was in the gen 1 FAQs somewhere. I was wondering if you could try the gen 1 seat slider/bracket mounted to the gen II seat cushion? I guess I will find out if I get hold of one.
