Starter stuck on even when running

Default Starter stuck on even when running

I am having a little problem with the starter. when I start the truck the starter wont shut off. it is stuck on. any suggestions?

It may be the ignition switch. Or the starter solenoid is sticking causing the starter to stay engaged. I would say test the power at the solenoid terminal at the starter. See if it has power after the switch is returned to the run position. If it the power cuts off as the key is off then its the starter. If it has power once the switch is in run position then it is the ignition switch or wires.

^ditto^ get yourself a test light and start at the starter solenoid and if power is still getting sent out of it, then check the ignition side if no power coming in from the ignition the solenoid is the problem if not then i would make an educated guess that it's your ignition switch
