yeah but replacing that seal should be nothing special right? Just pop out and pop in?

I still don't have a clue what you're talking about. There are lots of seals in these transfer cases not even including the RTV you need to use on the case parts where they don't make a seal.

You need to be specific!!!!

the external ring seal, like the one on the pinions. my bad

Picture #11 is the one I'm referring too. The output shaft seal.

Answer me this. On the back of the transmission there is a cover just like that one. Where is the seal for that one too? Is it under that plate? I couldn't see one on the back of the transmission when I dropped my tcase. The book sais there's one but like I said, didn't see it. And I'm still driving around with a seal in the glovebox that goes no where. LOL

Picture #11 is of the input shaft bearing retainer. This retainer houses the seal for the input shaft. The seal pops out of the housing and the new one presses in, then the bearing retainer needs to RTVed onto the case. Like I said above, don't RTV the oil passage!!

Which transmission? Someone else will have to answer if its an automatic, cause I don't remember whats back there.

but it has the exact same plate/cover on the trans as the t-case does. just that the shafts are male and female.

Well my local junkyard found me a used Tcase for 300 bucks, and its even out of an automatic so i don't hafta swap the shafts...is this a good price??

As long as it is good and not trashed. Get a warranty with it. Most will offer a week warranty. If it don't work you can get another one to try.
