If they don't know that, I wouldn't take it to them!! If you go and say you want the body lift kit installed, and they don't do everything, take it back and make them do it on their clock, not yours. Its up to them to do the job they get paid to do.

I honestly would not count on only being able to pay them for 1 hour worth of work. It may happen, but chances are it won't. Even if they can get it done in an hour, expect to pay 1.5-2. If they can get it done in an hour and a half, expect to pay for 2-2.5. Thats just how shops work.

Seriously though, lifting the body on these trucks can't be easier. I've seen body lift kits for other trucks and they are much more involved. If it were me, I wouldn't pay someone $150-200 to put on a $100 body lift kit that I could do on a saturday afternoon!

Do you have to cut anything if you have a manual trans? I wouldnt think you would seeing as it should slide down when you raise the body. Is there anything else i should know besides relocating the fan shroud and bumpers and making sure i dont break or cut any lines or wires? This sounds simple enough.

Shouldn't have to do any cutting. I have a 5 sp with 2 inch body lift, but when I did the body lift my truck was an auto. Actually, come to think of it, the body lift was done 2 days before I started the auto to manual swap. But my point is, I cut the hole in the floor for the shifter much smaller than the factory one is cut, and have excessive clearance.

And writing this just made me think of one very important suggestion! Replace the rubber part of the transmission cooler lines if they look at all dry rotted so they don't go off and split open because of the angle change they sit at and dump out all your transmission fluid while your going 80 mph and leave you stranded over 100 miles away from home while you're ironically going to pick up a transmission to swap in... Im just saying, it can happen!
