Either that or take the bed off and attack it from the top. But yes, the fuel filter is integrated into the pump/sending unit.

Don't know if your 93 is the same but mine has the fuel filter mounted inside the frame rail on the drivers side. If you've got the canister looking one in hand that's where it goes, the one on the fuel pump is different.

93 and down have an external filter, as well as an internal filter. The sock kind if I remember correctly.
94 and up only have one in the tank like an air fliter type.

Y'all Rock! @Festerw Right after your post I ran outside and slid under my truck sure nuff it was right under the driver side door, dude, i could have kissed you right then. I grabbed the filter and within minutes had it in. I was really dreading pulling the bed off.
Thanks a ton guys.

But if you had to pull the bed, you don't have to pull it OFF, just disconnect the wiring and remove the bolts and slide it back a bit. I had to do it to replace the fuel pump.

Factory manuals can be misleading. Mine told me to remove the AC condenser to get at the transmission cooler. Makes a lot more sense to remove the radiator, not the condenser.
