e brake

Question e brake

hello everone i need to know the way the hole ebrake cables go i do not have any on my truck so im all confused to how thay go under the truck its a 96 3.9 4x4 ext cab thx bobby pics would be good

I'd take pics, but mine are kinda jury rigged.

Basically the cable is a 3 part system. There is the front cable coming out of the cab connected to one side of the intermediate cable... a cable that goes to both frame rails thats in a u-shape when in place... which extends almost to where the frame starts to bend upward (you'll see holes there) and then connects to each of the two rear cables that clip into the frame at those holes and go into the brakes.

So wait...,the e brake is connected to both rear wheels, huh, well i know my driverside cable is cut but havnt paid attention to the passenger side because i was told that most vehicles only had one e brake on one of the sides, ill have to check the passenger side one

Every vehicle on the road in the US has the parking brake on the rear on both sides...I've never heard of or seen one with only one side...
