Default LA 318 into 89 4 banger question

As is, 4 banger and 5 speed, will be installing a 318 and auto trans.
I know I need the auto trans crossmember, after market cable shifter and kickdown linkage. And a pressure reducer for fuel, as it will be carbureted.
The computer has to go, so some wiring needs to be done.
I suspect I will need the heavier coil springs up front, and the after market motor mounts, but what else will I need to put the LA 318 in?
There are no emission requirements in my part of Utah....in case it matters.

Why not a 360, very similar to a 318 at least the magnums are....., and 25 more horsepower. Might as well if your going through the work of installing a new engine. I dont know the gas milage difference though?

Unfortunately we don't have a good write up on the swap. But a few people who said they did said it is basically the same a V6 to V8 swap. Which we do have some posts on. Go to the FAQ2 for the write ups.

The 318 that I have is a factory rebuild short block with magnum heads and valve train, giving it a 1.6 rocker ratio instead of 1.5. That is a sneaky way to get more cam lift from the factory cam. Better heads, more lift, should get some above average performance and still have economy. I have never seen a 360 that got the mileage of a 318...but, I do have a built 360 as well, at 330 HP estimated....
