Question Truck problems, need some help

Well i have a 1996 dodge dakota slt ext 3.9l, i went to town to pickup somethings yesterday. On my way back home i turned the air conditioner on. I drove approximately 1/4 of a mile then i had to stop while someone in front of me turned. Anyways i was almost at a complete stop with the engine idled extremely low and nearly died. I didnt think much of it and i didnt have to come to a complete stop again till i got home. So i went to leave my house later that day and stupid me left my headlights on so i had to get boosted off from a nrighbor. The battery charged enough to start the truck but the engine would not turn over. After a while i found that the engine will not start unless the gas pedal is depressed. When i left off the gas pedal the engine idles extremely low then dies, most of the time. Occasionally it will get stable and then idle at 1k rpms (normal idle at 400 rpm). That was yesterday, so today i went out there and tired to start my truck again. I hit the switch and it fired right up. Turned it off and it started the whole thing over, wouldnt start unless gas pedal is depressed. I drove it up the rode and the engine did not cut out while driving or even when i got back. Im clueless as to whats wrong. I have a mechanic for a neighbor im gonna take it to tomorrow and get it looked at. But im just wondering if anyone knows whats going on? Also it hasnt shown any codes yet.

From: Sycamore, Illinois (displaced to Arkansas)
Default

Idle Air Control Valve (IAC).
It's mounted on the back of the throttle body, and has an electrical connector attached to it.
Try removing it, cleaning it and the passage way in the throttle body out.
If that doesn't fix it, it will need to be replaced.
