Default Header question

I was looking for headers for my truck and all I can find are shorty's. I have used long tubes before on an '81 K5 Blazer with a SBC and they worked great, but I have never used shorty's before. I found some at Summit Racing and was wondering if they were worth the $200 for the generic Summit brand ones. I am mostly looking for improved fuel economy. I am trying very hard to resist the urge to turn this truck into a 400hp beast like my K5. Also is there an easy way to tell if my plenum is leaking without taking it off? I am burning a little oil (not enough to smoke noticably) and am not sure where.

Shorties are great. Most will fit in the stock pipe flange. Long tube headers are for top performance. Racing use mostly. Shorties will be your best bet. Yes summit brand is worth it.

For the plenum leak. Look down the throttle body. Look at the bottom of the pan for oil. Use a flashlight if you need to. You can also check your vacuum.
