Default 93 2wd 3.9 no power to wiper motor fuse good

First, thanks to you mods and administrators for keeping this site up and running. And to all who post here. In the last year or so, you have kept me from trying to replace a blower motor (it was just the resistor), and helped me diagnose and replace my starter. It IS possible to get one out of a 93 2WD w/out removing the steering shaft. The skin always grows back over the knuckles...

Now my wipers have me stumped. The wipers quit on me a couple years ago, but I could here the motor running. This site lead me to replace the little cap/bushing on the end of the shaft that the wiper arms connect to. Great!

Now they have stopped again. Only no wiper motor running this time. The underdash fuse block has no bad fuses. The box under the hood says nothing about wiper motor. There are two wires going into the bottom of the motor (one white, one black), and 4 going into the top of the motor. I haven't taken either of the harnesses off the motor, because I usually manage to break tabs off in the process. I have been sticking the leads to my meter down along the wires going into the harnesses. I am unable to find any combination of wires or wire/ground that gives a reading showing any voltage.

1. Do I have to take the quick disconnects off to make this measurement?

2. More importantly, are they quick disconnects? Just pry a tab back and pull?

3. Across which wires should I be measuring to check if I have power to the motor?

Thanks.

Check the grounding sheetmetal strap on one of the 3 mounting bolts, take it apart and clean the surfaces - you can do this without pulling the whole assembly.
