Truck dies occasionally
Ok, So i have a 1994 dakota 3.9 with 155000 miles on it. and when i go to back up in the morning, sometimes it dies right as it goes in reverse, or sometimes in drive.
It doesnt do this all the time, and it runs great. i just replaced the cap, rotor, and ignition coil. any ideas?

When it dies is it because of low Idle? Does it stumble before it dies? If you hold your foot on the gas when its about to die will it keep it from dying? Does it start right up after? Will it not start for a while? Please be more descriptive!!
There is a bad splice that corrodes and causes it to die on some trucks. Check the FAQ in this section for a wire up.
If it is an Idle problem it may be the IAC. Idle Air Control valve.

even if it doesnt die, reverse has a really low idle for some reason. i just fixed a few vacuum leaks and the bad wire splice, and the problem still remains.
i think i have saved it a few times by hitting the gas, but it usually just dies right away. and it seems to happen either after its been running for awhile, or if i just started it. if that makes any sense.
isnt the IAC on the back of the throttle body on the 94?
