Another v6 to v8 thread
Hi i am planning to swap a V8 into my 92 dakota. I have decided that a carbureted 360 would be the easiest way to go since this will be my first time pulling an engine (have done a awd transmission before though)
But as far as a transmission goes i am not sure what to look for. It must be a standard and i believe the one that comes with the 3.9 is to weak to use?
Any info on a 5speed that would be good to use with a 360 that would "bolt in" or require few modifications would be great.

A nv3500 would be a direct bolt in, and a nv4500 would fit with a 2 inch body lift. The 360 would be pushing the nv3500 though, especially if it is a built engine. The nv4500 would be about bulletproof in a Dakota.
